Jolene has passed away unexpectedly. She was the pride and joy of Mr. Lovis Burns of North Carolina. Jolene was a first strike, first tree kind of hound with a great big mouth and houndy looks. She was a coon dog from tailgate to tree and she will be missed by many. Jolene lived long enough to raise one litter of pups for Lovis, so she lives on in her sons and daughters. She also lived long enough to earn her CH degree on the bench, and to win the high scoring B&T at the North Carolina State Hunt in 2006.

Cole is a go hunting, honest first strike dog in honest company (95% of the time he gets 1st strike), and a first tree dog that likes to have a coon. He will split and hold pressure and has plenty of nose to tree layups. He runs a track with a course loud bawl and trees with a short loud bawl on tree. He has a ton of personality and is one of the smartest dogs I have ever been around. He is so smart I usually open his kennel door and say go load up and he runs and jumps on the tailgate and waits for me to get there and put his tracking collar on. I think Ryan has done a good job of researching these Myers' hounds and did a terrific job with this cross. I highly recommend a pup from Ryan. He has 100 purina pts this year so far in 2007 with cast wins at SETW days in NC and B&T days in Ohio. He is 50% on his cast wins in purina events (entered 4 casts and won 2). I believe that if you are looking to better your stock of hounds then you need to take a long ride on the COLE TRAIN.

Cole’s cast win at B&T Days was good for 2 nd place NITECH on Friday night. He also has been the King of a B&T sectional.

I am proud to announce that I have been able to purchase half interest on Dancer back, and plan to implement him into the Dark Cypress breeding plan in the not too distant future.

Dancer is a hard going, flashy sort of hound. He is a first strike dog in most company, and he can really fly on a track, hot or cold. Dancer is not the type of dog that you patch hunt. You better plan on taking him off of a tree when you cut him loose. He has a big, loud, bawl mouth on track, and he mainly bawls on trees too. Dancer is co-owned and campaigned by a young man by the named Michael Rich of Indiana. Michael won 1st place in the youth hunt at Black and Tan Days with Dancer in 2007, and followed up with a 10 th place finish in the World All Around Youth Championship Hunt! A big thanks goes out to Michael for allowing me to co-own such a fine hound with him, and for all the hard work he has put in hunting and campaigning Dancer.

Dancer will be available at stud on a few select females by private treaty after earning his NITECH degree. He will be finished to NITECH very soon, and will be campaigned toward GRNITECH there after. As you can see Dancer has some heavy line breeding on the Myers strain of B&T especially the great Myers Mighty Hoss who is his grandsire on both sides.

Hoss has earned 1 st and 2 nd place wins in UKC. He has won in West Virginia and Tennessee, and has performed well in many different hunting terrains and conditions being trained in central Indiana, and winning in competition in the river bottoms of West Virginia and the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee. I hunted with Hoss a few times as a 2-year-old, and saw that Hoss has an extremely good mouth. He is a bawl mouth track dog that is a first strike dog in almost any company, and I’d say it isn’t always honest. He runs a track well using plenty of mouth, and he is a belly up on the wood tree dog that trees with short bawls and chops. Hoss is a big male that is dark in color, and has houndy looks.

Lucy is another young dog out of Crazy that is doing the job. She is owned by Bud Johnson of Columbia Missouri. Mr. Johnson says that he is happy with Lucy, and that she is like a member of the family. At the last report he felt as though Lucy had all the tools to make a solid hound and that she was becoming more and more consistent. He felt that if she continued to improve in that area that she could be a very good dog.

Shade is a young dog that we are quite proud of. He has about as much heart and drive as a dog could have. Shade is always going hard, and always giving his all. Shade runs a track with a tenor bawl and chop. He comes on his tree with a couple of long dieing bawls, and rolls it over to an intense rapid chop. Shade is louder than average, and has a mouth that carries very well. Shade has been a very straight hound, and he isn’t afraid to get by himself. He has the looks, drive, and ability that make us think he will be a winner on the bench and in the woods. Shade has been put on the back burner a couple of times in his life due to the fact that he came along at the same time that my wife and I started having children, but he has been able to make it despite my new lack of hunting time
